Basic Parish Nurse Preparation Course

The Basic Parish Nurse Preparation Course is designed to provide the registered nurse with a basis to begin a parish nurse program in her/his congregation. Applicants must be registered nurses, licensed to practice in the United States, with two years professional experience preferred. Applicants must complete an application and provide two references: one from clergy, and one personal. The course consists of modules completed during the course of a semester, and is available spring, summer and fall. It is completed totally on line. This continuing education activity has been provided by West Virginia University Extended Learning in partnership with West Virginia University School of Nursing and Hospice Care for 45 contact hours. Hospice Care is an approved provider of continuing education by the State of West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses, Legislative Rule 19CSR 11-4 under provider number WV96-0060RN. The cost of the course is $400.00.
